CHINESE SHIPBUILDER LAUNCHES THE EXTRAORDINARY 'VOS FABULOUS'

Eastern Chinese shipbuilder Nanjing East Star Shipbuilding Co (ESS) has recently launched a highly distinctive emergency response and rescue vessel for marine services provider Vroon Offshore Services. The first of a six-vessel order, the striking 50 metre × 13.2 metre 'VOS Fabulous' boasts a "revolutionary wave-piercing bow shape that has been specially designed for Vroon," commented ESS. The vessel will feature a top speed of approximately 12 knots, a cruising speed of 10 knots, and can accommodate 22 crew and 26 survivors, with further seating for an additional 66. The 'VOS Fabulous' is scheduled for delivery to Vroon Offshore Services by early summer and will be operational in the North Sea later in the year.
