'Mutawa 302' Chinese-built service vessel for the UAE

United Arab Emirates-based shipowner Al. Mutawa Marine Works has received delivery of a new offshore service vessel to operate out of the Port of Abu Dhabi. Named 'Mutawa 302', the all-steel vessel was built in China by Xin Yue Feng Shipyard and has been completed to Bureau Veritas classification standards. Measuring 58.6 metres in length, the new OSV has a beam of 14.2 metres, a depth to main deck of 5.5 metres and a loaded draught of 4.5 metres. Her modern design reflects the increasing sophistication of Chinese-built work vessels. Below the waterline she features a plumb stem leading back into a full-body hull that scallops up at the stern to provide room for her twin nozzle enclosed propellers. The hull design provides excellent sea keeping and deadweight capacity while also ensuring efficient and economical operations.
