A hobby knife with a sharp blade is a must. Always keep a pack of new replacement blades around, and don't mess around with a dull blade. Foam-safe CA was used for the model assembly, but slow-setting epoxy is best for bonding the wing into the fuselage slot. Two millimeter Depron sheet foam is used for the construction of the little racer. My preferred material for masking off the model's paint scheme is 3M Scotch, no. 811 removable tape. Copy the plan's side view onto heavy paper or light carboard, and use this as a template. You can use a pin to punch alignment holes through the template and into the foam to indicate the positions for the wings slot and stinger lines. The fuselage is then split lengthwise to install the carbon stiffener strip. To install the horizontal stabilizer and elevator assembly, cut the rudder free and then glue it back in place. I have used 3mm Depron for the fuselage, but 2mm sheet can be used without problem if you install the carbon strip. You can also use a thin plywood spar or two carbon rods if you groove both sides. Be sure to mask both sides of the glue joint to prevent the adhesive from spoiling the foam parts.
