Litening is a multi-sensor targeting, navigation and surveillance pod that provides day, night and bad weather location, targeting and surveillance capability. The program has more than 650 pods on order, over 500 of which have been delivered for use by the U.S Air Force and seven international air forces. The evaluation team took note that Litening pioneered the use of data links in targeting pods for video and data communications with troops on the ground.
