The tragedies of recent events have saddened us all, and aviation security is high on everyone's agenda. This year's AVSEC World will take a close look at the multiple security challenges faced by the industry, including ensuring maximum use of available passenger information resources, responding to risks of operating to, from and over conflict zones and preparing for cyber-attacks. The opening day sessions will reflect on recent incidents and the tough questions that need to be asked-and answered-to ensure that civilian aircraft can fly with confidence. The global security picture will be reviewed, from war-torn states to those with fewer resources for implementing security measures. Key regulators will be asked how standards can be raised to a consistent level so that passengers and cargo can move more easily and securely across borders, with greater trust between States and greater confidence in the global system.
