1. Secure all loose objects, open and block cabin access doors or canopies, and ensure passengers are securely belted. Use pillows, coats or other soft objects to help protect occupants.rn2. Extend wing flaps and retractable landing gear, if any, before touchdown to help absorb landing/impact forces. If you get lucky, having the gear down might save the airplane.rn3. Plan to touchdown at the airplane's minimum controllable airspeed. Any excess speed must be dissipated and the airplane decelerated before the risks to passengers are minimized.
