Bristow Wins £1.6 Billion UK SAR Contract

A £1.6 billion contract was awarded on March 26 to Bristow Helicopters Ltd to provide a search and rescue (SAR) helicopter service for the UK. This followed a competition that began on November 28, 2011, to procure an SAR helicopter service to replace the joint capability provided by the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and Maritime and Coast Guard Agency (MCA).
