The aerial search for the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 has officially ended. As Aviation News went to press the Australian authorities said the focus had shifted to an intensive underwater search in the southern Indian Ocean to find out what happened to the Boeing 777-200ER that disappeared with 239 people on board. Meanwhile, Australian Exploration Company, GeoResonance, said it had detected possible wreckage of an aircraft in the Bay of Bengal, north of the current search location although the company made no claims it was the missing airliner. While the Australian-led search team dismissed the private company's claims, the Bangladesh Navy sent ships to investigate.
