Handley Page O/400 Wing Parts Rescued

Action has been taken to preserve wing components from World War One aeroplanes that had been used to reinforce the roof of a building in Connah's Quay, Flintshire. Formerly part of a ship's chandlery, the building served as a garage from the 1970s but was vacated about five years ago. It had become very dilapidated although the wing structures were still in good condition. The existence of the building and its unusual roof was little known until September 2013, when a local heritage enthusiast invited the author along to view the relics.
