Vueling airlines launched its first service from Manchester to Barcelona on June 19. The flights operate on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday using an Airbus A320. Scandinavian carrier SAS will return to London Stansted Airport later this year when it begins flights to Gothenburg. The carrier will start 12 weekly rotations on October 26, using a Boeing 737-600, bringing an end to a 14-year absence at the Essex airport. Oneworld carriers AMERICAN AIRLINES and QANTAS AIRWAYS will begin new services between the US and Australia. American will start flying between Los Angeles International Airport and Sydney using a Boeing 777-300ER, while Qantas will serve San Francisco from Sydney using a Boeing 747-400.
