Zenith Selects Evos

Biggin Hill-based Zenith Aviation signed a deal for eight Piaggio Avanti Evos at Paris. The contract, which includes one firm order and seven options, makes it the first UK charter company to fly the type. Zenith operates a fleet of Learjet 45s and is adding a Cessna Citation XLS and Bombardier Challenger 604 imminently. The $74m Evo is the third iteration of Piaggio's P180 twin-pusher and was launched in May as an upgrade of the 10-year-old Avanti Ⅱ, featuring a revamped, quieter interior and enhanced safety features. Piaggio reports it has increased performance, thanks to new winglets, redesigned engine nacelles, a reshaped front wing and five-bladed composite scimitar propellers.
