As a fan of the SEPECAT Jaguar I enjoyed reading the article in the January issue on the type's service with the Ecuadorian Air Force. I used to regularly visit RAF Coltishall in Norfolk to see the RAF's Jags in action and occasionally made it to Scotland to catch on film the big cat's operational conversion unit at RAF Lossiemouth, Moray. It was sad to see the type being retired by the RAF though its usefulness is obviously not lost on the Indian Air Force which I am pleased to say still has the type in service. My passion for the Jaguar means I enjoy reading about it, and its career with the Ecuadorian Air Force was not something I had previously seen much about. It was also interesting hearing about the delivery flight by test pilot Eric Bucklow.
