Versions of the 125 business jet are still popular and in use around the world. Impressively, the design dates back to March 1961 when work began at de Havilland's Hatfield plant in Hertfordshire on a jet replacement for the company's Dove. This proved a sound move as in the succeeding five decades more than 1,700 125s were delivered and production only ceased in the USA following the bankruptcy of Hawker Beechcraft (the last company to manufacture the aircraft) in 2012.
