'Avro 504K' Takes to UK Skies

Argentinian-built Avro 504K reproduction G-EROE took to the skies for the first time in the UK on May 6. Matthew Boddington was at the controls for the flight from Sywell, Northants. The aircraft was built in Argentina by the Pur Sang Aerohistoric company and first flew (as LV-X430) in November 2010. It is still owned by the Argentine company but will now be operated in the UK by Eric Verdon Roe, the grandson of Avro founder Alliott Verdon Roe. The aircraft is named Olivia and has been constructed to represent one of the machines built by the Fabrica Militar de Aviones (Military Aircraft Factory) of Cordoba, Argentina, which manufactured the type from 1928.
