New build biobased products projects commissioned globally in 2015

Advances in industrial biotechnology is slowly beginning to make its mark in the production of high value substitute petrochemicals. Many of the biotech start-ups which came up with proof of concept in laboratories with novel metabolic engineering routes to produce high value chemicals were simply defeated by process engineering and process chemistry hurdles that faced them towards the journey of commercial scale production.
