Leonardo's twin-engined C-27J Spartan has proved itself a truly multi-mission platform across every continent in the world - both in military and humanitarian roles. Developed from the successful G.222 tactical transport, in a joint programme between Italy's Alenia Aeronautica and Lockheed Martin in the US, it was officially launched in 1996 and labelled the Lockheed Martin Alenia Tactical Transport Systems (LMATTS).
