Given the infancy of the HMS Queen Elizabeth Carrier Strike Group (CSG), the inclusion of VMFA-211 from the United States Marine Corps (USMC) to the ship's air component was an opportunity for the UK military to extract USMC experience in ship-borne operations.Joining 617 Sqn, the RAF's first frontline Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning Ⅱ squadron, the men and women of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 211 (VMFA-211) brought with them a wealth of experience to share with their UK counterparts in both operating the F-35B and in best practices for maintaining the jet while at sea.
