French VADOR Delivered

Escadron electronique aeroporte (EEA, airborne electronic squadron) 1/54 'Dunkerque' received the first Beech 350ER VADOR (Vecteur Aeroporte de Designation d'Observation et de Reconnaissance, airborne observation and reconnaissance designation vector) at Evreux-Fauville on August 8. The aircraft, 1018/F-ZACG (c/n FL-1018), was handed over to the French military procurement agency on July 31 from Sabena Technics and Thales. Two were initially ordered in June 2016 under the Avion Leger de Surveillance et de Reconnaissance (ALSR, light surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft) programme, with a third due in 2023. A fleet of eight is planned by 2030.
