THE F.6 IS THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER VERSION OF THE LIGHTNING. It remains an aviation icon of the Cold War Period and one of the most significant achievements of the British aviation industry. The Lightning was operated by the infamous No.74 'Tiger' Squadron of the RAF who's history can be traced back to 1 st July 1917. No.74 squadron selected to welcome the Lightning into frontline service in the summer of 1 960 also operating the F.3 variant as well as the T.4 and T.5 trainers.
