Leonardo to Open Algerian Line

Leonardo Helicopters and the Algerian Ministry of National Defence have announced plans to set up a facility in the North African country. This joint venture will include a brand new industrial plant at Am Arnat, in Algeria's Setif province. A 51 % share in the facility, which is scheduled to become operational in 2021, will be owned by the Ministry of National Defence and 49% by Leonardo. The joint venture follows on from an industrial and trade partnership agreement signed in August 2016. The new plant will assemble, sell and support several helicopter models, primarily to meet Algeria's national requirements, but also for the export market. In addition, the joint venture will provide the end users with technical support, maintenance and training services and capabilities.
