A major milestone has been reached by Uzbekistan Airways in its fleet renewal programme after taking delivery of its first Airbus A320neo. The CFM Leap-1A-powered aircraft, UK32021 (c 8754), was handed over during a ceremony at the manufacturer's Hamburg/Finkenwerder plant on March 8. It is expected to be joined by the second of two examples it has on order in April, both of which will be leased from BOC Aviation. The carrier, which becomes the third in the CIS to operate the re-engined version of the A320 after Russia's S7 and Kazakhstan's Air Astana, has configured the jet in a two-class layout consisting of 12 premium and 138 economy seats.
