Excellent weather and an impressive lineup of display aircraft meant that Duxford's two-day Air Festival was a big success, and attracted good visitor numbers. Held over the weekend of May 26 and 27, the show had a strong French flavour, with theAlpha Jet-equipped Patrouille de France aerobatic team performing on one day, and the Armee de lAir's Dassault Rafale flyingon both. Another highlight was a rare UK appearance by former Swiss Air Force F+W C-3605 'Schlepp' C-509 (HB-RDH). Its spirited display won't be forgotten in a hurry. Duxford's next major show, Flying Legends, is scheduled for July 14-15.
