Etihad Launches Cadet Training To Entice Young Pilots

To attract new pilots from around the world, Etihad Airways of Abu Dhabi has launched a cadet training program modeled on a similar program offered by Emirates. Etihad says it has already received more than 350 applications. Qualifications to be a cadet for the 18-month course include being between 18 and 26 years of age, medically fit to fly, and possessing an accredited secondary school diploma or higher with passing grades in physics, mathematics and English. The airline, whose staff is more than 90% foreign nationals, also offers new employees a rent-to-buy housing program.
