Consumer sales are making the headlines, but there is still strong growth in professional plasma screen and LCD sales. Plasma or LCD? The conventional thinking is that plasma is capturing the large screen domestic market, while LCD is increasingly the technology of choice for corporate and digital signage installations. But that may be too simplistic, as a host of retail installations, for example, have gone the plasma route and the latest generation of plasma screens are not just capable of longer life cycles (and a reduced tendency to burn in), but are capable of handling high-quality video better than at least some of their LCD competitors.
