The sales of passenger and light utility vehicles in the region by PSA recorded a fall of 11.2% at 234,000 units in 2009, which represents a group market share of around 5.3%. The manufacturer produces its vehicles in the plants at Porto Real (Brazil) and Palomar (Argentina). It plans to extend its market coverage from 50% to 75%, with 12 launches planned between 2007 and 2010, including the Peugeot 207 Mercosur, 207 Pick up, Citroen C4 and Peugeot 307 tri-body, already on sale since last year. The new C3 Picasso and an SUV have been announced fbr 2010, as well as a 308 or 408 model in 2011-2012. The group, which has set itself the goal of producing 500,000 vehicles annually in the region by 2012, is establishing an R&D centre in Sao Paulo (Brazil).
