I recently had a conversation with someone I've known for quite some time, but hadn't connected with in a while. The conversation started with the typical "what are you up to now," which led to the subject of supplier relationship management (SRM). In short, they could not initially understand the value of investing valuable resources to build relationships with suppliers who are essentially paid well to do what we need them to do.
