Testing time in Stuttgart

Stuttgart was home to the testing, engine and crash test expos in the first week of June. Boasting a record number of exhibitors from a variety of countries, the three co-joined exhibitions were generally well attended. On virtually every stand there was something new and unique to be found, with software and virtual testing becoming an ever more predominant factor. For example, as already covered in our preview to the show in last month's issue, LMS had a large stand to announce a number of new software packages and data acquisition systems. Its new Test.Lab Rev 4, with new modules for modal analysis, throughput processing, batch printing, sine dwell and many other new features was demonstrated to Automotive Engineer as was its SCADA 305 mobile data acquisition and testing system. The Belgian company also used the exhibition to introduce the Rev 4.50 of LMS Pimento, the laptop-sized portable noise and vibration analyser.
