Choosing a car is a combination of rational and unexplainable emotional factors. The exterior alone cannot provide all the ingredients to satisfy these, which is why the interior should never be demoted to second best, according to interiors manufacturer Johnson Controls. For anyone buying a car, all the senses need to be in harmony and, perhaps more importantly, the vehicle has to generate an overall sense of wellbeing. This is where Johnson Controls says it scores with a "sensory" design theme for the products of tomorrow. This sets out to engage all the senses in a consistent and balanced way that will heighten the emotional appeal of each vehicle. It is the future trend in interior design, claims Johnson Controls' Future Lab.
