Daf tests medium-duty hybrid truck

US supplier Eaton is testing hybrid powertrains for medium-duty trucks with DAF of the Netherlands. Eaton is expanding its sales efforts in Europe. The parallel diesel hybrid engines will go on sale in the US next year after four years of development and field tests. There are 220 units in trials in the US, which have achieved fuel economy improvements of up to 60 per cent, said Eaton.
