Continental builds R&D in Hungary

Continental is investing €10 million to expand engineering capacity for its electronic braking and stability systems in Hungary. The firm will complete a proving ground early next year and will recruit an extra 100 engineers and technicians for its Veszprem site in the next few years. What started as a low-cost manufacturing site in 1993 is developing into a lower-cost development facility. Continental's Veszprem factory employs 1,000 people in the production of wheel-speed sensors and sensor clusters for anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control.
