Ludwig Willisch, the division's former president, shares his thoughts on how the cars could evolve.rnDoes BMW ever change the base vehicle's specification to cater for the M variant's attributes?rnNo. We develop our own cars on the basis of BMW models, but we clearly say it has to fulfil the market's requirements for a high-performance car. For example, two thirds of an M3 is different to a 3 Series coupe. This includes the chassis and even parts of the body but first and foremost, of course, the powertrain.
