Theirrnfurther development will be important in making electric vehicles and hybrids more viable in the marketplace.rnGeneral Motors has more experience in electric drives than most OEMs, and its technology has evolved. Whereas its original electric car, the 1996 EV1, used induction motors, the 2010 Volt will use permanent magnet units.
