Nissan designs all-wheel drive system for electric cars

Nissan has designed an all-wheel drive system for pure electric vehicles. The e-4WD system could be used in vehicles such as the OEM's Leaf C-segment car. Nissan has developed all-wheel drive systems for compact vehicles such as the Juke SUV, but the e-4WD system was designed to show that the technol- ogy is also compatible with alternative powertrains. The e-4WD system attaches an additional in- verter, reducer and motor to the rear axle, allowing for all-wheel propulsion.
