Q: How many more variants of the Mini can you develop without diluting the brand? A: As long as you develop the products gradually, you can have new derivatives. For me it's open to a lot of new concepts. The Paceman isn't a historic vehicle in the industry but now everybody knows what a small SUV coupe is, You have to be open to new ideas. You will introduce a new vehicle architecture next year. How will this affect the technologies you offer? Engines are the clearest example. In the past Mini had different engines from different makes - Toyota diesels for example, Now we have an engine that was developed in cooperation with Peugeot. In future we will have access to all the new engines which we develop with BMW.
