The SUV segment is becoming increasingly congested and Jeep is adding another competitor to the fray. The Renegade shares the same underpinnings as the Fiat 500X, and both vehicles were developed in unison. Even though this is the first Fiat Chrysler vehicle to be jointly developed by engineers from the US and Europe, the Renegade is staying true to Jeep's heritage of competency in off-road conditions: the active drive low all-wheel drive system offers a 20:1 crawl ratio; the vehicle has a 30.5° approach, 25.7° breakover and 34.3° departure angle; there is 221mm ground clearance, and it can wade in 482mm of water if required.
