Q What useful lessons from hybrid and EV technology have filtered down into fuel-cell systems? A The electric and fuel-cell vehicle both have electric motors and batteries, and we are able to tap into this knowledge.They also both have power regeneration from the braking and a power support, so there are many common aspects. I am in charge of fuel-cell vehicle (FCV) development and I strongly believe in the technology but at the same time I do not negate or deny the necessity of the EV. I believe that human beings should have several solutions at the same time - not just fuel-cell technology and not just the EV because they should have different usage, so different places in the market.
