Daimler electrifies heavy commercial vehicle

Daimler has developed an all-electric heavy commercial vehicle.The Mercedes-Benz Urban eTruck has been designed for short-radius distribution and is based on a heavy-duty three-axle distribution truck. The entire drivetrain has been replaced with an electrically driven rear axle with two electric motors adjacent to the wheel hubs. Their maximum output is 125kW each, while the peak torque is 500Nm each. In combination with the gearing, the torque at the wheel reaches 11,000Nm.
