Road Transport Telematics Could Solve Traffic Congestion Problems

A burgeoning industry now exists for equipping roads and vehicles with systems for traffic control, semi-automatic driving and driver-assistance. Here a look at a pilot scheme in Stuttgart is followed by an examination of different vehicles systems, both projected and already available. The feature concludes with a total-system proposal.
