Ford's most testing task

Ford has opened a new environmental testing facility at Dunton, Essex. The Engineering Centre will have state-of-the-art engine and vehicle test facilities as well as substantial powertrain and automotive component operations. It will play a big role in helping to find technological solutions to wider social concerns, with particular emphasis on vehicle emissions and safety. The work undertaken at Dunton include the design and. development of all Ford small and medium-sized cars and light commercial vehicles sold around the world. At the site, Ford will develop all its diesel engines as well as carrying out work on in-line petrol engine, including the Zetec and Zetec-SE families.
