A radically rearranged valve layout is under test which could make for much improved gas flow into and out of the combustion chamber of four-stroke internal combustion engines reports Michael Sibley. The idea patented by J W Clayton Automotive would double the port area by using all the available valves to serve for both inlet and exhaust.
