Many small and medium sized refrigeration systems with remote or self-contained condensing units utilize low pressure controls, sensing suction pressure to control the refrigerated space temperature. The control cycles the refrigeration compressor in response to the evaporator (suction) pressure, starting the compressor at the "Cut-in" (High Event) pressure and stopping the compressor after the pressure has dropped the "differential" to the "Cut-out" (Low Event) setting.
