摘要

Two of the leading industry supplier groups, Graphic-Arts Merchants Association of Australia (GAMAA) and Visual Industries Suppliers Association (VISA) have merged into one association that will help to reshape the graphic arts sector and provide a major force to promote the industry and its needs. Visual Connections is a Pty Ltd company, that will be run by a board of directors and two executive officers, Peter Harper and Karen Goldsmith. The formation of the new association is seen as a natural progression for the industry, which it is. For years, converging technologies and an increasing commonality of interests among manufacturers and suppliers has brought the various sectors of the print and graphics communications industries closer together. This created an overlap in the functions of the two former associations that saw a quarter of GAMAA members already signed up with the former VISA. In addition, shared trade exhibitions, with Visual Impact co-locating at the last PacPrint in Melbourne in 2013 and the recent PrintEx in Sydney, gave added need for the merger.
