French manufacturer, MGI Digital Technology will be offering a raft of new products for both digital and offset applications at drupa. MGI, which is supplied in Australia by Konica Minolta, will have the world premiere of its AIS SmartScanner which offers touchless sheet registration for the printing and finishing industry. MGI says the AIS offers a range of benefits: It eliminates 80 per cent of operator setup time spent on registration processes, allows quick and seamless job workflow integration with a simple 'scan and register' setup process and removes unnecessary operator wage costs. The AIS system uses Artificial Intelligence which MGI says helps to create automatic varnish and hot foil registration for the management of inkjet heads and each printed sheet.
