My wife Christine and I purchased Lenswood Vineyard from Annie and Tim Knappstein in 2004. The vineyard comprises 25ha of vines, planted at 1125 vines per row at 2.4 m wide and 1.5m spacing. Varieties grown include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Gewuerztraminer.rnThe vineyard was initially planted in 1982 and expanded in 1990. However, a number of the original plantings, including Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec, were abandoned. In 2001 and 2002, a block of south-facing Semillon was grafted over to form an area of approximately 2ha of Gewurztraminer.
