Now the dust has settled after two ERAs, it is time to ask ourselves what we are left with on the research battleground - because it is a battleground as disciplines jockey for position in the competitive research environment. With every research minute now accountable, and with a researcher's capacity to do research at all dependent on a high level of productivity, how do journalism researchers get the outputs required to confirm their legitimacy and stake out their disciplinary territory?
