Rebecca Giblin's Code Wars - 10 Years of P2P Software Litigation is a valuable resource for anyone wanting to familiarise themselves with the entrails of peer-to-peer (communication and copying) technologies prevalent in the first decade of this century, and the contours of copyright law in that period that relate to those technologies - most particularly American, but also English, Canadian and (pre-iiNet) Australian law. While highly cerebral, it is also a pleasure to read with excellent pace, tone and metaphors - for instance, the reader is told that "Skype emerged directly from the loins of Kazaa" (p 8). This is a fine book which presents an account of its chosen terrain with accuracy and intelligence.
