No silver bullet: effective Cyber Security

INDUSTRY estimates consider that solutions which were around 80 per cent effective 10 years ago are only 20 per cent effective today.One of the key presenters at the recent CIV-SEC civil security conference in Melbourne was Dr Rajiv Shah, general manager of BAE Systems - Applied Intelligence, who said that surveys have revealed that cyber attackers can compromise an organisation on about 60 per cent of occasions within minutes, even though many of those organisations had considered they had taken adequate security measures.
