I have a cd on my desk. Compared with the paper-based objects that I routinely handle, it is not very old - less than a dozen years. Whether or not the information it contains is available elsewhere, it is of wide interest: it holds the results of a 'heritage survey' of Hobart streetscapes, carried out as a 'work for the dole' program under the National Trust in early 2000 - the broad point being that a lot of people, not just those of us with an interest in old Tasmanian houses, had a stake in the outcome.
