Anyone planning to stab someone and escape should ensure that their victims are wearing old clothing, according to research at the University of Otago.rnShelley Kemp, a Masters student in Clothing and Textiles Sciences, found that it is harder to work out the weapon used to make an incision in older clothing. Kemp had 10 young men stab silicon dummies clothed in common fabrics using a hunting knife, kitchen knife and screwdriver. She repeated the test using machines dropping the same weapons.
