摘要

Radiology is shifting from film and light boxes to digital softcopy displays. A related trend is the move away from CRT monitors to LCD displays. We introduce a simple, interactive computer application for routine quality control tests targeted to LCD displays. Due to their nature, such displays usually do not experience geometric distortion or significant degradation in spatial resolution over time. Rather, their primary concern is contrast sensitivity. Our application generates randomly placed test objects, requiring the user to pinpoint their location interactively, thus minimizing the subject expectancy effect often seen in static phantom tests.
